Live @ EXT

Here’s the schedule of the upcoming Live @ EXT shows (Friday at 12n). Each Friday, we bring you live, intimate, often acoustic sets with interviews with some of your favorite musicians – rising stars, and established artists alike.

4/12 Kail Baxley
From the small town of Williston, SC (yeah, the same town as James Brown) comes a singer-songwriter with a lush and full sound. Kail’s experiences in the deep south, and his exploration of music come through in his lyrics and the sound.
4/19 and 26 no shows – 500 Best Albums countdown
5/3 Frank Turner
Frank recently graced the Capital District with his show at Upstate Concert Hall. His new album is just out, and this session proves he knows how to rock on acoustic instruments just as hard as if they were full on electric with amps.
5/10 Gabriel Kelley
Gabriel Kelley caught our ear and our attention with his down home folk style that adds a little country and a little rock attitude in. His songs are inspirational, and they really make us feel good.
5/17 Dean Batstone (Dean plays at Caffe Lena in August!)
Dean’s brand of Americana is tinted with his touring stories and his migrant work/home life. Hailing from near Ottawa, he is also a part-year resident in the Hudson Valley near Rhinebeck. Dean’s had a lot of success on Americana radio stations throughout the south. We’re big fans, not only because he brings us cookies, but because his songs speak to us in words we might not otherwise think of.
5/24 Ryan Bingham
Ryan Bingham joins Bob Dylan, Wilco and My Morning Jacket at SPAC on 7/21. We check in on a recent session with Ryan to get us ready for the show.
5/31 Von Grey
Young sisters from Atlanta, GA. These classically trained sisters range in ages from 12-18. We weren’t 100% sure what to expect when they arrived, but by the time they left the building we were believers. They really pulled off an amazing live set.
