Son Little is a nu-soul innovator from Philadelphia who “doesn’t strive to reproduce his influences; he recombines them into something new.” (NPR) He first gained notice through collaborations with The Roots and electronic producer RJD2, and has gone on to release a debut on roots-rock heavyweight ANTI- Records. Classic soul-inspired riffs are enhanced by a kaleidoscope of electronics, and anchored by Little’s mellifluous (often echo-soaked) voice. Perfect for sipping on an afternoon IPA.

Dave Michaels talks to Aaron Livingston and learns how he got his stage name. Hear how Aaron won a GRAMMY Award for producing the legendary Mavis Staples, wrote his new album "New Magic" in the Northern Territory of Australia, and much more.

Don't miss Son Little at FreshGrass 2017, September 15, 16, 17 at MASS MoCA in N. Adams, Massachusetts.
