The debut and sophomore albums respectively from two of my all-time favorite artists. I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me before now (it probably did, but I didn't think to much of it), but while listening to the former and jotting down tidbits to share on Breakfast with The Beatles, I found it interesting to see how similar the album covers were. I pulled them both up on the computer and placed the images side-by-side. Each capture a peaceful moment shared with their companion outdoors under towering trees.
The songs inside each album are absolutely astonishing! John and Neil create their most raw, direct and heartfelt collection of songs here. Side-by-side and by my side; beautiful and always will be.
Two standouts... "Working Class Hero" from John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band:
and "Cowgirl In The Sand" from Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere:
